Destruction of CISA is Treasonous
The purpose of this piece tonight is to emphasize two main points. Elon Musk’s silent takeover of America’s “cyber-everything” and an example of how Republican politicians use rhetorical language with the public to spin, twist, and skewer the truth in order to do their dirty business in the Halls of the United States Congress.
I received an email as a reply today from Louisiana Senator Kennedy. He was replying to the previous phone call I made to his office a few weeks ago requesting that he protect America’s Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Security Agency, better known by its acronym, CISA.

Inside the Republicans “Full Year Continuing Appropriations and Extension Act of 2025”, (Continuing Resolution for their Budget Bill), which all Republicans and 10 Democrats (led by Turncoat Chuck Schumer) voted for, were the plans to shutter CISA. Eliminating CISA is shocking and hard to understand unless you view it through the lenses of (1) Tech Bros wanting all that business and power; (2) it would please Russia, which pleases Trump; (3) capitalists were likely lining up for a take on some of that action, too. Now it makes sense.
But in the interests of the United States of America, everyone should have voted against it.
The destruction of CISA leaves every American extremely vulnerable. Extremely so, in so many ways; this is another topic for another day.
Who is most likely to benefit from the elimination of CISA? Elon Musk and his company SpaceX, of course. You can read more about that here:

Now we get to Senator Kennedy’s email. I wanted to give you that background context so that you would understand how evasive his reply to me about CISA and the importance of safeguarding the agency was.
In the second and third paragraphs, he diverts attention and makes excuses for cutting funding for America’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), (America's Cyber Defense Agency).
He never addresses the issue: the importance of keeping America's cyber security safe... He only makes excuses about providing tax cuts while needing money for other things... and he completely avoids discussing the issue of import: keeping America's cyber security safe. He doesn't address it at all.
Here it is.
Dear Ms. Bell:
Thank you for reaching out to me about your support for funding for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. I appreciate hearing from you on this important matter.
On March 14th, 2025, Congress approved a single continuing resolution, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act of 2025, which maintains FY24 funding levels until the end of FY25. I voted in favor of this package because it extended FY24's (Added) significant spending cuts to federal agencies while directing the funds that were approved to programs that Louisianians rely on the most. Simply put, this package addresses a variety of needs, such as funding that supports our veterans, farmers, waterways, and rural communities, all while prioritizing fiscal responsibility and cutting back on unnecessary government spending.
With the simultaneous pressures of needing to fund programs that promote job growth, provide for the needs of our troops and veterans, and other worthy programs, Congress is left with the exceedingly difficult task of choosing which priorities can receive these limited public funds. These are challenging but necessary decisions, and I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind as the Senate Appropriations Committee, of which I am a member, considers funding bills for the upcoming fiscal year.
